چکیده

This study aims to identify the forms of starch in edible plants. research involved several plants such as sago, yam and taro. type uses descriptive quantitative methods by conducting experiments on each sample used. The data collection technique was carried out describing results form from that had been obtained. obtained this showed Sago preparations viewed under a microscope an oval shape spread throughout preparation so it classified eccentric could be seen at 10X magnification, while Jicama round chains some parts. plane entered concentric type, but can 100X Taro has lumpy accumulates areas enters 40X magnification. So concluded are very diverse, both shapes, with smooth rough structures, namely lumps. Keywords: Edible Plants, Starch Form

Enzymic Mechanism of Starch Synthesis in Plants

An important development in the field of polysaccharide biochemistry has been the discovery of starch synthetase in beans, potatoes and corn seedlings by Leloir and coworkers•>. The enzyme was found to be closely bound to the starch granules and to catalyze the transfer of glucose moiety from UDP-glucose into polysaccharides containing linkage of the a-D-(H4) type. Subsequently, the granule-bou...

Characterisation of Nox4 inhibitors from edible plants.

NADPH oxidases transport electrons from cytosolic NADPH through biological membranes to generate reactive oxygen species. NADPH oxidase 4, broadly expressed in humans, is an interesting pharmacological target, since its activity is deregulated in several diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis, diabetic nephropathy, and cardiac hypertrophy. Whereas several candidate NADPH oxidase 4 inhibitors we...
